Madison stopped into front of the huge building. Her long, elegant finger twirling a strand of her long white blonde hair. She hadn't done anything special all summer and had just decided to wander around. She wanted to do something fun, but what to do... She sat down leaning against the wall and began dazing off. This seemed to happen a lot lately. Madison was always zoning out and daydreaming. Madison shook her head and casually rested her chin on the palm of her hand.

Janel Truelove walked around aimlessly with nothing to do right now. Her long hair tied up in a messy bun, she was glad that her hair wasn't getting in her way. She had done basically nothing during the summer except for coming here. The place seemed full of life all the other times she went out, but today it looked like a bore.
Seeing a huge building in her sight, she walked over only to see a girl beginning to zone out. Trying to make a friend before term started, Janel walked over to the blonde and held a happy smile. "I'm Janel.'

Madison opened her eyes as she heard a girl speak to her. She looked up and squinted, the sun was quite bright so she couldn't see very well. Madison shrugged at the girl that called herself Janel. "Pleasure." She didn't say her name because Madison wasn't sure if the smiling girl was a Pureblood. Madison only talked to Purebloods since that was the way she was brought up. She glared at Janel, "What's your bloodtype?" she said very straightforwardly.

"What's your bloodtype?" she said very straightforwardly. "My blood type?" Janel asked, taken aback by the question. She hadn't lived in the wizarding world before and really didn't know much about magic. "I'm a half-blood. Why?"
To her, the question was pretty much absurd. Since when did blood ever matter? No one's different from the rest just because of their blood.

"I'm a half-blood. Why?" Madison scoffed. "Half-blood?" she shook her head, utterly disgusted. "Why? Because I don't like interacting with any other blood type other than Pureblood. That's why." she raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms.

Cocky much. Janel thought, crossing her arms and facing towards the blonde haired girl. "And why don't you like interacting with any other blood type?" Her answer was probably the most outrageous thing she had ever heard of. It was like a prejudice comment against people with polka-dotted skin. Just plain strange.

Madison smirked. "Because every other blood-type is rubbish. Especially muggle borns. They aren't needed in our world. Filthy creatures they are." She said looking the other way. She shook her head and tutted.

Every other blood type was rubbish? Who in Merlin's name taught her that? "They aren't filthy creatures, they're human. And muggle-borns are needed in this world." Janel was beginning to get angry with the girl in front of her. She seriously needs to get her facts straight.

Madison laughed at the girl. "In your eyes perhaps. They aren't needed in this world. They're pathetic and disgusting. What makes you think we need them?" she said sharply.

At this point, Janel felt like slapping the girl in the face, but she didn't. She had restrained herself from doing so. "I don't know really, but I do know they're here for a purpose. It's not all about you pure-bloods that think you're great." Her face was calm, but she said the words through her gritted teeth. Wanting nothing more than to just knock the girl out of her socks.

Edward was on one of his solitary walks, deep in thought as usual. Today he was contemplating the coming of the new school year, missing his friends from Hogwarts, and (of course) dwelling on the loss of his parents and younger brother, David. It was reasonable warm outside, with only thin wasps of clouds in an otherwise clear blue sky. It was a gorgeous day outside, but things could not be more clouded in his head.
For dark were his dreams of late. He could not recall all that much, save for visions of his family falling deep into some abyss, followed by some sinister laughter as Edward himself was impaled upon some sword by someone behind him. But the dreams always end before he could see the identity of his attacker. What could this dream mean? Edward was smart enough to know that, in the magical world, dreams were rarely just that.....
Edward was jerked out of his reverie as he happened upon two young girls arguing by a large building. Judging by their facial expressions and the volume of the voices, it seemed to be a rather heated one. Deciding on a whim to brave the lion's den, he walked over to the two close enough to be heard. Coughing, Edward spoke up.
"Um, excuse me. But what seems to be the quarrel here?"

Madison simply laughed at the girl. She loved that she was getting her angry. She rolled her eyes and was just about to tell her off when a boy suddenly appeared. "Oh no," she said with that charming half smile of hers. "There's no quarrel, we were just having a, erm, discussion. There's no need to worry." She said patting the boy's shoulder in an elegant yet cautious manner.

Breathing deeply, Janel tried to calm herself down from their little 'argument'. She looked over at the boy that had come during their talk and smiled gently at him. "Yeah. No quarrel here, just another pure-blood who thinks that her blood tye is better then the rest." She wasn't going to lie and just let the stupid blonde talk. She was just another idiotic pure-blood.

"There's no quarrel, we were just having a, erm, discussion. There's no need to worry" Madison said to Edward, patting his shoulder in a condescending manner. He gave the cocksure young girl a sidelong glance as she patted his shoulder; one thing he did not appreciate was being patronized. And she most definitely seemed the type to be arrogant and instigative.
"Yeah. No quarrel here, just another pure-blood who thinks that her blood tye is better then the rest" Janel spat back, clearly not standing for whatever it was Madison was saying or doing. She could barely contain her anger and disdain for the subject matter and Madison's opinion of it. Edward himself was the product of a pureblood and a non-pureblood, so he immediately did not like the blonde one.
"Excuse me," Edward began, his voice tinged with a hint of steel. "My mother was not pure-blood, and my pure-blood father certainly found her good enough for him. I don't know who filled your head with such bile, but there are just as many talented wizards and witches who are NOT pure of blood as there are those whom are." His brain filled with the memories of his dead parents, and of his recently murdered little brother, David. Edward did his best to contain his disgust with Madison's arrogance and bigotry, but it was beginning to show.

[Edward, I find it strange that you would call your own mother a mudblood. But maybe that's just me.]
Madison bit her lip as the boy began to talk. Nodding now and then, pretending to be fascinated. "Yes, well that's all very interesting, but I can honestly say that your little speech does not phase me whatsoever. Mind you, I love learning about stranger's families and talented non-purebloods." she said sarcastically with a semi-disgusted look "but obviously, you have your opinions, I have mine, and she has hers," she glanced viciously at Janel. "I think it best that you don't try to persuade others to change their outlooks. It's not good manners." she said with a devilish smirk and a roll of the eyes. "And what makes you think that you can just barge into our conversation and take lead. Hmm?" She stared at the boy with a morbid look. She didn't understand how Purebloods could fall in love with mudbloods. His father was obviously a blood traitor.

((OOC: Haha. So I did. I tried not to, but I fixed the error. Thanks! And I can leave this thread if you want me to. Just going thru withdrawals and needed to RP. My apologies if I offend.))
Edward gave Madison a glare, but kept his voice level and calm. He has been rattled by far worse than an arrogant young girl who fancied herself to be superior to others on the basis of her bloodlines.
"You're absolutely right. My apologies. You're certainly free to your opinions, as we are to ours. However, a bit of unsolicited advice; my mum and dad taught me that it's not the blood that makes the wizard, but the kind of heart that pumps it through the body."
He gave a half smile to Madison and bowed slightly, then turned to Janel and gave her a warmer smile. "Term is starting soon at Hogwarts. Perhaps we shall meet again, hopefully under less combative conditions."

Janel just watched and watched as the two bickered between each other. She was glad that the boy sided with her on this, although now that she had thought about it, there was no need for this talk anyways.
"Yes, hopefully we will." She said returning the warm smile with her own. Oh, I don't think I caught your name." Janel said, her smile was looking like it wasn't about to go anywhere yet.

Edward gave pause as his mind froze for a moment. Jumping from one state of mind to the next was rarely something he excelled at. Usually, he was in one state of mind to a varying degree, which was depression. And truthfully, Edward had no real intention of lingering for long. The fact that he approached two complete strangers who were in the midst of a heated arguement was quite out of character for him. All the same, Janel seemed like a nice girl.
"I am Edward Grant, and a pleasure it is to meet you, um....."
Edward paused, realizing that he did not know the young girl's name.
"I'm sorry, but I don't believe I got your name either."

"It's nice to meet you, and I'm Janel." She said with a soft smile. Edward seemed like a really nice guy. Maybe they would become friends sooner or later. Janel never really seemed to like having enemies, but for Madison, she could make an acception.
Goodness Madison was just one of those one to many people who thought pure-bloods were superior from the rest which was quite untrue. No one was superior than the other, all was supposed to be equal. It seems like the world would never go into world peace.

Edward bowed formally in greeting. "Well then, on that note, I shall be off. I hope you don't have too hard a time with your blonde friend there." He gave a sldelong glance at Madison as he spoke, a sarcastic smile forming on his face, before returing his full attention once more to Janel. "Well, Janel, I really must be going. Maybe I'll see you on the train to Hogwarts."
