Some of you have been confused about how the levels of magic work. For you, I provide this (hopefully) simplified version. In all cases, the dominant one has been bolded
The Affinity Side (from levels 1-3) is quite simple. Level 1 is thus:
Eternal
Holy
Shadow
Light
Level two is thus (the first one is dominant):
Judgment (Holy and Light)
Ether (Eternal and Holy)
Photon (Light and Shadow)
Chaos (Shadow and Eternal)
Light and Eternal do not combine, nor do Holy and Dark
Level three is thus (once again, the first is dominant):
Death (Chaos & Photon) [Shadow/Eternal & Light/Shadow]
Restoration (Judgment & Ether) [Holy/Light & Eternal/Holy]
Summoning (Ether & Chaos) [Eternal/Holy & Shadow/Eternal]
Safeguard (Photon & Judgment) [Light/Dark & Holy/Light]
As you can see, the dominant level 1 magic in all Sacred Magic is simply the one that appears twice
Elemental Magic is a little trickier
Fire
Water
Air
Earth
Level Two:
Stream (Fire/Earth)
Ice (Water/Air)
Lightning (Air/Fire)
Growth (Earth/Water)
Level 3 is where it gets tricky. Unlike Sacred Magic, the dominant one in Hex magic is NOT the one that appears twice.
Curse (Stream/Growth) [Fire/Earth & Earth/Water]
Drain (Growth/Ice) [Earth/Water & Water/Air]
Wipe (Ice/Lightning) [Water/Air & Air/Fire]
Paralysis (Lightning/Stream) [Air/Fire & Fire/Earth]
The trick with Hex magic is a little more subtle. Instead of simply finding the one that appears twice, you must find the one that is DOMINANT over the one that appears twice.
If this was confusing, I offer this general example:
(A, B, and C are level 1, X and Y are level 2, Z is level 3. As always, the first one is dominant)
Sacred Magic (Affinity Level 3)
Z = X + Y
X = A + B
Y = C + A
The dominant Level 2 of Z is X
The dominant Level 1 of Z is A.
Hex Magic (Elemental Level 3)
Z = X + Y
X = A + B
Y = B + C
The dominant Level 2 of Z is X
The dominant Level 1 of Z is A.
